Visiting Assistant Professor of English

Job Description:

The Department of English at Assumption University invites applications for a one-year position as Visiting Assistant Professor for the 2025/2026 academic year. This position carries a teaching load of seven courses for the academic year. The successful applicant will teach first-year courses in our Foundations program, including Writing in the University and Literature and Its Interpretations, as well as an upper-level literature or writing course in the applicant’s field. We seek a candidate committed to high-quality teaching and undergraduate mentoring. The instruction modality for this position will be on-campus, in-person.

Applicants must have at least a Master’s degree or Master of Fine Arts, and preferably a Ph.D. in English. ABD graduate students with prior teaching experience will also be considered.
