POSITION OVERVIEW

The Accounting Intern will join the Des Moines-based Global Atlantic Life and Annuity Finance team to prepare and analyze statutory financial statements, prepare and reconcile journal entries and account reconciliations, and complete SOX testing.

• Prepare and post journal entries to support financial close
• Complete reconciliations
• Preparation of schedules and exhibits for Statutory financial statements
• Support daily tie out process
• Research and resolve issues with accounting data
• Other projects as needed
• Administrative tasks as needed
• Excel analyses and ad hoc tasks as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

• Obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to draw conclusions from research and report on findings
• Strong communication skills, work ethic and high level of personal integrity and accountability
• Experience with Excel, PeopleSoft General Ledger, Business Object Enterprise, Hyperion Financial Management and Essbase preferred
