Job Summary:

Performs customer service, clerical duties, and supply management to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the Premier Mobility Center. Responsibilities include managing inventory and ordering supplies, overseeing incoming and outgoing mail, fitting and training patients on Durable Medical Equipment (DME), and providing exceptional support to patients and staff.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service:
    • Open and close the store according to policies.
    • Greet and assist customers with inquiries, purchases, and complaints.
    • Process transactions accurately, including cash, checks, and credit/debit card payments.
    • Issue receipts and record purchases per policy.
    • Answer patient questions over the phone, providing information or directing calls as needed.
  • Patient Support:
    • Check in orthotic patients and notify the Orthotist upon arrival.
    • Schedule patient appointments.
    • Fit and train patients on the use of Durable Medical Equipment (DME).
  • Inventory Management:
    • Track and record inventory.
    • Stock shelves in the DME store 
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Balance cash boxes and maintain transaction accuracy.
    • Contact insurance carriers for authorization to ensure coverage for charges and services.
    • Assist with mail delivery throughout the business, including incoming and outgoing parcels.
  • Orthotist/Prosthetist Assistance:
    • Assist in the lab and support the Orthotist/Prosthetist as needed.

  • Observes confidentiality of information in regards to patients, physicians, therapists, and fellow employees. 
  • Protect patient sensitivities and right to privacy.

  • Use computer to accurately enter, maintain, and retrieve patient data.

Attendance 

  • Maintain a good attendance record, arrive to work punctually and able to substantiate overtime.

  • Follow dress code of the department, appear professional when present in the clinic, wear identification while on duty, and communicate name and role to patient appropriately.

Confidentiality 

  • Observe confidentiality of information in regards to patients, physicians, therapists, and fellow employees; ability to maintain confidentiality under HIPAA standards.

Staff Meetings/In-services 

  • Participates in Premier Bone & Joint Centers and departmental in-services and staff meetings.

Care of Environment, Equipment, and Supplies:

Clean, Neat, Safe Environment 

  • Maintain a clean, neat, and safe environment for patients and staff, including personal work areas.




Requirements

Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent - Preferred


Experience:

  • Recent Clinical Experience - Preferred

  • Seeing - Must be able to read and use a computer to facilitate information collections, organization, and dissemination - Constant
  • Hearing - Must be able to hear well enough to communicate in person, or on the phone with therapists, physicians, staff, administration, and patients/families - Constant
