In this position the International Logistics Specialist will oversee the importation and exportation of material and major end items (MEI) in support of an international direct commercial sales (DCS) programs. This position will be responsible for PRISM (SAP) sales and shipping transactions, country specific documentation, and milestone tracking and reporting.
This position will work closely with key stakeholders (program office, Global Trade, deployment field services, IPT's, etc....) to ensure hardware deliverables meet the customer contract commitments on time and within budget.
What You Will Do
- Interfacing with program management office and foreign customers to plan and execute key logistics initiatives
- Working closely with Supply Chain leadership in supporting strategic logistics and supply chain plans
- Working with internal product, Export / Import and Logistics teams
- Working externally with Third Party logistics providers Responsibility for the Logistics scope and basis of estimates for New Programs
- Supporting transportation process and updating shipment status over multiple international programs
- Tracking and understanding all costs associated with each shipment and identifying areas for cost reduction.
- Responsibility for the Earned Value and Risk and Opportunity Management components of Logistics budgets Managing shipping transactions, country specific documentation, and milestone tracking/reporting
Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of five (5) years prior relevant experience, or an Advance Degree in a related field and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience.
- Experience with Logistics, Program Management, Packaging, Handling, Storing and Transportation, and or Supply Chain.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Earned Value Management System
- knowledge base and experience with FAR, DFAR, ITAR and PRISM (SAP/ERP system)
- MBA Preferred
- Program Management Experience
- Understand of import/export classification, licensing and clearance process
- Hazmat transportation requirements
- Defense security service transportation requirements
- Formal training within Logistics
- Trained in Core or Six Sigma Methodology
- Exemplary oral and written communication skills, ability to listen well and communicate effectively with all levels of management.
- Proven ability to collaborate across multiple business functions within a matrix environment by resolve conflicts and influence others.
- Strong critical thinking skills, ability to exercise independent judgment and manage complexity and ambiguity
