IDEAL CANDIDATE STATEMENT The ideal candidate for the Supervisory Paralegal Specialist (Chief of Litigation Services) position will have a demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and exercise sound judgment in assigning and supervising work; general knowledge of the law and court procedures to prepare legal documents and various correspondence; strong research and analytical skills; the ability to assist attorneys and train staff in the rules and procedures needed for court filings; and the interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues, court personnel, opposing counsel, and agency leadership. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must have one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-11 grade level, which has provided them with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the Supervisory Paralegal Specialist (Chief of Litigation Services) at the GS-12 grade level. Specialized experience includes: Experience preparing records and other documents for filing in the courts and other litigation activities; and Experience conducting legal research on court rules and agency regulations; writing summaries or analyses of court decisions, rules and statutes, or other legal documents; and Experience collaborating with different offices or agencies to ensure the accurate interpretation of applicable laws and regulations; and Experience in preparing and reviewing complex court filings, including records, cert lists, and appellate briefs. This experience must be fully supported and articulated in your resume to receive consideration.
