The J72 unit is a 25-bed cardiology stepdown telemetry unit that provide fast-paced nursing care to a select medical cardiac patient population that includes myocardial infarction, post cardiac intervention, chronic heart failure, dysrhythmia management and pulmonary hypertension. As a New Grad RN Resident on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed.

A caregiver in this position works a day/night rotation from 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide direct nursing care. 

  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.  

  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.  

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments. 

  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  

  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. 

  • Educate patients and their families.   

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN, BSN program) 

  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)  

  • One year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider military RN experience 

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross 

  • If in a Critical Care area, an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) Certification must be presented upon hire or within the first year of employment

 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)


Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

  • Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
