Our mission is to build a suite of analytics, automation and workflow software across the digital ecosystem to drive performance, consistency or scalability. Our technologies include advertising automation, eCommerce analytics, generative AI, market share modelling and more.

We are organised in 7 fully functional squads responsible for the delivery of our suites (Creative, Media, Data, Commerce). Two transverse teams support the global squads: Devops/Cloud Engineering and UX/UI.

Job Description

We are looking for a talented Engineering Director to lead the squad in charge of our Data Ingestion, Preparation and Visualization stack. With over 100 data sources and thousands of connected accounts, J+Report (formerly reeport.io) is the backbone of our entire organisation for data-related matters.

Working hand in hand with the Product Lead and with a team of 10 people, you will be in charge of enhancing both the backend and frontend of our data technologies, and ensuring consistency, reliability, and performance.

You will be in charge of managing and upskilling the squad, typically spending 50% of your time building/coding and 50% of your time mentoring other engineers (pair programming, code reviews, knowledge transfer…).

This includes working with business stakeholders to understand their problems, designing the architecture high level solutions in collaboration with other tech leads and ensuring the squad delivers functional high quality code.

Qualifications

Track record

• 5+ years of experience in Software Engineering
• 2+ years experience in leading, mentoring and upskilling software development engineers.
• Demonstrated success in building and maintaining software products in continuous integration

Technical skills

• Excellent knowledge of both Python and Javascript, as well as SQL databases. Not afraid to get your hands dirty, refactoring or building from scratch.
• Strong English communication skills (a passion for learn & share is a plus). French speaking is a bonus
• Nice to have
  • Experience in anything (big) data related
  • Experience with Docker, GCP, AWS
  • Passion to implement best practices (SOLID, CI/CD, Clean Archi, TDD, Event sourcing ...)

• Ability to lead by example and to inspire their team members
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical team members.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment, with a strong understanding of business context
• Adept at growing a tech team through both upskilling and hiring
