Final Assembly Line Engineer - Mobile, AL

About the role

 

The final assembly line engineer position works with OE, Liebherr-Aerospace Lindenberg GmbH and Liebherr-Aerospace Toulouse SAS and customer teams to successfully support the final assembly lines. 

Responsibilities

  • Support the Final Assembly line for all Liebherr-Aerospace products on Airbus airplanes in Mobile, AL such as (not conclusive): 
    • A220 Environmental Control System/Components and Landing Gear Systems/Components
    • A320 Environmental Control System/Components and Flight Control Actuation Systems/Components
    • Others, on request, such as Final Assembly Line for Boeing in Everett, WA, e.g. (not conclusive):
    • 767 valves
    • 777 actuation and actuation system 
  • Support to Aircraft Final Assembly / Production Line and Flight Line (FAL) and reporting through the company tools, and management directives in more detail: 
    • Trouble shooting on components, replacement and/or repair of components according to quality procedures. (Quality delegation for FAL and Flight Line interventions and use of Liebherr documentation tools. (T))
    • Support engineering analysis and disposition of snags associated with Liebherr components detected on the assembly line.
    • Execute Technical Accomplishments (TA) as requested and write CoC.
    • Support and manage logistics of part exchange if applicable according to company procedures and inventory handling and management.
    • Support liaison engineering with Liebherr design-/engineering departments for aircraft interventions and harmonized with Seattle Office on-site liaison engineering if applicable.
    • Participate in air and actuation systems and other related systems integration teams and meetings as requested. 
    • Perform analyses, in accordance to harmonized directives by the Liebherr system and design teams.
    • Appropriate preparation and organization of meetings on site and follow up of agreed action items.

Competencies

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other related science/engineering field with 5-7 years of engineering experience in Aviation or relevant required; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Language skills in French and/or German a plus.

  • Demonstrates strong technical presentation skills, persuasiveness and makes solutions that meet customer needs 
  • Listens to all points of view and negotiates compromise.
  • Has a good understanding of the Aerospace Industry and sells the product that will best meet the customer’s needs.
  • Builds rapport with a variety of people and develops alliances to work together toward common goals.
  • Ability to work in a potentially stressful environment. 
  • Consistently demonstrates honesty, fairness, and trustworthiness.

  • Capability of travelling overseas, mainly Europe, for business and training purposes.
  • Familiar with U.S. Export regulations.
  • Travel a minimum of 30% domestically
  • Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and passport.
