Job Description
The Dean of Brainerd Career and Technical Programs and Grants is a key member of the College’s leadership team and is responsible for career and technical programs at the Brainerd Campus. The Dean has the primary responsibility to ensure responsiveness to regional workforce needs and alignment with CLC’s commitment to equitable student success in support of the mission, “We build futures.” The position will lead and coordinate the College’s grants strategy to advance institutional goals, align resources to implement the College’s strategic plan, support program excellence, and meet regional education and workforce needs.
Salary Range:
$93,713-149,940 annually
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field (e.g., career and technical education program).
Three (3) years supervisory or administrative experience in a post-secondary institution.
Two (2) years of teaching experience in post-secondary education.
Demonstrated commitment to the comprehensive community college mission.
Experience in Customized Training and/or revenue-generating workforce partnerships.
Demonstrated commitment to advancing equitable student success.
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and nurture a positive and support team culture.
Preferred Qualification
Doctorate degree from an accredited college or university in a closely related field (e.g., career and technical education program).
Demonstrated commitment to establishing internal and external relationships to support the work of the division and enhance the college’s position in the community.
Demonstrated commitment to collaboration, consultation, and shared governance.
Knowledge and experience with policies and practices relating to excellence in teaching, curriculum development, instructional program planning and innovation, budget development, assessment, articulation/transfer agreements, faculty evaluation, data-based decision making, distance and on-line education, course and faculty scheduling, catalog, and other instructional publications.
Experience working with and developing programs in career and technical education.
Demonstrated commitment to a shared responsibility for student success and experience with practices to promote student persistence and completion.
Knowledge and experience in the development, support, and use of technology to promote instructional goals.
Effective interpersonal skills and responsive decision making as a leader and manager.
Experience in creating collaborative relationships, partnerships, and program advisory committees.
Leadership behaviors that have demonstrated support for academic freedom, shared governance, inclusion and participation in decision-making, and equitable treatment of employees.
Skill in communication, both oral and written, that include the ability to write and analyze policies and procedures.
Demonstrated ability and commitment to a positive, respectful, and culturally diverse work environment.
Strong evidence of experience working with business and industry partners, and in collective bargaining settings.
