Project Overview:

Bechtel is building a semiconductor manufacturing plant in New Albany, Ohio. We are partnering with the North America Building Trades Unions and suppliers to create several thousand new jobs and work with local education organizations to implement new training programs that will support the future talent pipeline. Bechtel Manufacturing & Technology, Inc. offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the semiconductor manufacturing, electric vehicle, and data center markets. Headquartered in Reston, Virginia, the M&T global business unit also includes colleagues working in Arizona, Ohio, Texas, India, and additional project locations around the world.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will perform tasks involved in the formation and administration of purchase orders. You will prepare bidders’ lists, qualify bidders, form bid packages, issue bid requests, participate in negotiations, recommend commitments, secure approvals, communicate with suppliers and monitor supplier performance. Your efforts are to ensure potential and current suppliers comply with purchase order requirements and provide the required service and results to meet project needs.

Major Responsibilities:

• Evaluates bids commercially. Reviews and comments on special payment billings.
• Participates with Construction and supplier representatives in discussions held to clarify purchase order documents and/or specification requirements. Identifies, defines, and secures agreement regarding potential changes.
• Initiates and processes revisions that establish scope and effects on cost and schedule of agreed upon changes.
• Award and manage Blanket Orders and Releases.
• Establish files and control all correspondence between the project and the supplier. Closeout orders per established project procedures.
• Maintain contact with suppliers to monitor progress toward material deliveries. Support warehouse operations in resolving material receipt problems.
• Communicates with Engineering to assist and/or guide them in the preparation of material requisitions for the procurement of materials and equipment and to achieve the understanding needed to process these requisitions
• Forms bid packages and issues bid requests; coordinates bidders’ questions; and receives bidder proposals
• Prepares Commercial Bid Summary and recommendations to award Prepares and commits purchase orders within their authority
• Communicates with suppliers and personnel within Bechtel to establish clear definition of requirements and to assure supplier performance to the obligations within the purchase
