We're looking for an experienced Principal Software Engineer in Data Engineering to create Zscaler's Business Insights product. Business Insights is a new initiative where we provide deep insights to our customers helping them make better business decisions by leveraging a ton of telemetry. Reporting to the Sr. Director, you'll be responsible for:

• Design and build multi-tenant systems capable of loading and transforming large volumes of structured and semi-structured fast-moving data
• Build a robust and scalable data platform to support the needs of Business Insights use cases
• Work with product management, marketing, security, UX/UI, and data teams to identify requirements and evolve Business Insights features
• Extract entities of interest pertaining to a business need and create relationship models that best serve the analytics needs

What We're Looking for (Minimum Qualifications)

• 10+ years of software development
• 5+ years of experience in building high-performance data processing infrastructure taking into account concurrency, latency, and efficiency by profiling, reviewing logs, etc
• 5+ years of experience in building data/analytics driven applications
• Proficient with coding in Java and Python
• Experience in Big Data integration via Hadoop.
• Experience in data modeling and database design with strong knowledge in Hive/KQL/SQL query

What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)

• BS Computer Science or Equivalent
• Experience architecting systems following the REST architectural style
• Experience in working with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or other messaging queue approach
• Experience in cloud architecture, such as Azure, AWS, or GCP. Experience in Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
• Experience building connectors to bring in 3rd party data from various SaaS applications
• Metrics-driven development experience and experience using metrics systems like Grafana, Prometheus, etc
• Ability to write code that can perform efficiently in a big data setup
• Strong knowledge of various DBMS systems including NoSQL architectures and design principles
• Experience tuning JVM for optimal application performance
• Successfully delivered software products from ideation through to implementation and support
• Understanding of statistics and machine learning (optional)
