Work Schedule: Hybrid — 3 days in-office, 2 days remote
Salary Range: $85,000 - $102,000 based on experience

General Responsibilities
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will independently prepare, plan, and execute small to medium-sized healthcare projects with general supervision. You’ll apply standard design techniques, perform engineering calculations, and contribute to construction documentation and administration.

Pre-Design Engineering
• Review existing as-built drawings
• Conduct field investigations
• Set up drawings and models for multiple disciplines
• Coordinate design schedules and deliverables
• Perform feasibility studies
• Prepare schematic designs
• Design Engineering
• Perform energy calculations using EnergyPro or IES VE
• Develop single-line diagrams and load schedules
• Design lighting systems and controls
• Engineer normal, emergency, and renewable power systems
• Conduct Arc Flash, Short Circuit, and Coordination Power System Studies
• Experience with low-voltage building systems (Fire Alarm, Security, Voice/Data, Nurse Call) is a plus
• Design Complexity
• Perform routine engineering work using standard techniques
• Conduct basic engineering calculations
• Prepare construction estimates and specifications for small projects
• Independently develop small reports and peer review small projects
• Construction Administration
• Review submittals and respond to RFIs
• Produce meeting reports and punch lists
• Participate in construction meetings and provide clarifications

Education & Certification
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification preferred
• LEED Accreditation is a plus

Experience Required
• Minimum 2 years of engineering design experience post-graduation or equivalent professional experience
• Prior experience working on healthcare/hospital buildings preferred

Working Knowledge
• Microsoft Office Suite
• AutoCAD
• Revit (a plus)
• California Building Code (a plus)
• National Electrical Code (a plus)
• HCAI experience (a plus)
• Net Zero Energy/Carbon design (a plus)
