Position Summary
BOOST is helping our confidential client hire a Software Developer.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Database Development and Querying
- Writing complex SQL queries and generating reports
- Oracle Database experience, including writing/debugging PL/SQL stored procedures and functions
Java and Application Development
- Java development, including backend and API interfaces
- Spring Boot for building RESTful web services and microservices
- Front-end development with Jakarta EE technologies (JSF, PrimeFaces, JPA, EJB)
- UI development using TypeScript and React
- Writing back-end interfaces for processing files (XML, JSON, PDF, CSV, Excel, etc.)
- Development using NetBeans IDE (Java/XML editors, runtime debugging, Subversion, WildFly/JBoss deployment)
Application Server and System Administration
- Configuring and troubleshooting JBoss/WildFly servers using logs
- Working in Linux (file editing in vi, handling large log files)
Collaboration and Documentation Tools
- Working with requirements in Word/Excel (using Review tab), collaborating with business analysts
- Tracking work items and issues in JIRA
- Documenting systems and processes in Confluence
Communication and Soft Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Qualifications:
Experience Requirements:
- 5-8 years software development
- Experience with standards, design patterns and commonly accepted practices in languages (e.g., Java)
- Experience with functionality, common metaphors and usage of mobile apps
- NoSQL experience (nice to have)
- Demonstrated ability to work in team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience writing routine reports and correspondence
Education Requirements:
- B.S. in Business, Computer Science or Information Technology preferred
- B.A. in Liberal Arts accepted
Work Environment:
- Constantly operates a computer and uses other standard office equipment such as a phone, calculator, photocopier, and computer printer
- Facility to see and read a computer screen and printed matter with or without visual aids
- Occasionally lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 15
- pounds
