About the Role:

The Team: The summer internship will support the Index Management Teams within the Global Index Management & Production Group, responsible for the calculation and maintenance of S&P Dow Jones Indices.

The Impact: We are looking for a summer intern to join the Index Management team. This internship opportunity will give you the chance to see, learn, assist and participate in research activities supporting the maintenance and rebalance of high-profile indices. You will be supervised by a mentor who will support your learning throughout the duration of the internship.

This role will also offer the opportunity for you to connect with stakeholders from all aspects of SPDJI’s business and the experience to deep dive into a wide variety of new indices and product types.

What's in it for you:

• Understand the complexities of Index Management and related policies

• Develop reporting tools to understand the various characteristics of our indices

• Develop Quality Assurance processes around data usage in S&P Dow Jones ESG Indices

• Design automation processes using platforms tools

• Conduct careful analysis on large datasets and be able to extract important conclusions/recommendations and explain those to various stakeholders

• You will have the opportunity to work independently and with other team members to help meet tight deadlines

• Perform ad-hoc tasks

What we’re looking for:

• Current student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Finance, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Computer Science or relevant academic background completed by May 2027

• Demonstrated understanding of global financial markets and company fundamentals

• Skilled in Python programming language and familiarity with Gen AI

• Ability to apply quantitative methods

• Strong Excel skills

• Strong interpersonal skills and able to work as part of a team

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated hourly wage for this position is 25 USD – 30 USD. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
