Field Access Specialist

Our partner is looking for a Field Access Specialist in the California Mountain West region, specifically based in Las Vegas, NV. This role is focused on supporting healthcare providers in overcoming access and acquisition challenges related to specialty products. The main responsibilities include providing education, offering guidance, and facilitating access to these products.
Responsibilities:
- Providing education on access and reimbursement support tools.
- Advising on patient prescription status and program eligibility.
- Educating healthcare providers and relevant stakeholders on payer processes and procedures.
- Offering in-person or virtual support for technical coverage, coding, payment, and distribution queries.
- Assisting customers in a compliant manner with billing and coding questions.
- Establishing and nurturing relationships with patient access stakeholders in specialty infusion providers and healthcare provider (HCP) accounts.
- Advising accounts on different access pathways, including outside referral and in-office infusion options.
- Demonstrating expertise in navigating access through medical and pharmacy benefit reimbursement processes.
- Acting as a subject matter expert on the local market access landscape for specialty products.
- Providing education to accounts and field partners on payer policies and processes.
- Proactively educating account staff on patient support programs and available resources.
- Collaborating with internal partners to develop compliant and customer-centric reimbursement support strategies.
- Maintaining appropriate relationships with business partners.
- Identifying and escalating customer, program, and healthcare industry trends as needed.
- Leveraging expertise to enhance the capabilities of field-based colleagues.
Requirements
- Possession of an accredited Bachelor's degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of industry experience in specialty access and reimbursement, account management, or related roles.
- Experience in claims reimbursement, billing and coding, managed care coverage processes, distribution of specialty medications, and relevant aspects of patient support programs.
- Proven ability to deliver educational presentations in person.
- Strong problem-solving skills in addressing complex patient access challenges across different payers, infusion providers, and specialty pharmacies.
- Highly organized and strategic thinker with excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
- Experience with medical benefit and physician-administered medications.
- Residence within the territory or within 100 miles of the territory border.
Travel:
- Ability to travel domestically, with potential for international travel exceeding 50%.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Neurology and/or infused biologic products.
- Experience in other functions within the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, such as product marketing, field sales, key account management, etc.
- Proficiency in delivering educational presentations via technology platforms.
- Experience in launching new Biologics and innovative therapy within both medical and pharmacy benefits.
- Prior experience working directly with payers in the Medicaid and commercial segments.
Benefits
- Competitive Salary Pay Range: $150,000 - $175,000.
