Position Overview
The Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) is the state’s lead division serving people with disabilities. The mission of the Division is to assist individuals with disabilities in achieving their goals of employment, education and independent living. This administrator develops, plans, directs, manages and coordinates the operations and activities of the Bureau of Customer and Community Field Services overseeing staff throughout the state providing direct services in the Vocational Rehabilitation and Home Services Programs to individuals with disabilities to achieve or retain integrated competitive employment and live independently in the community. The Division of Rehabilitation Services is seeking to hire a dynamic and organized administrator with strong leadership skills to oversee the Bureau of Customer and Community Field Services.
Essential Functions

Serves as Field Services Bureau Chief for Customer and Community Field Services, Division of Rehabilitation Services.

Establishes operating goals and objectives for the Bureau.

Serves as a member of the Division’s Senior Staff with other top-level managers.

Serves as full-line supervisor.

Establishes and maintains cooperative and effective liaison relationships with and among other Bureaus, Sections, Units and Divisions in DHS, State and Federal agencies, the public, professional and lay groups and employees.

Consults with other managers in the proper interpretation and application of statutes and Departmental rules and regulations.

Performs other duties as assigned or required which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications

Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college with course work in a social or human services field.

Requires four (4) years progressively responsible administrative experience in a health or human services organization.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Master’s degree in rehabilitation, rehabilitation administration, or closely related field.

Four (4) years of professional experience with administering a rehabilitation service-delivery program for persons with disabilities for a public or private organization.

Four (4) years of professional experience working with federal statutes
