Position Specific Description

The IT Business Systems Analyst (BSA) within the Fleet Tools and Diagnostics team will play a pivotal role in enhancing NextEra Energy’s nuclear application environment’s high availability profile, performance testing, SOX compliance, and data management systems. This individual will bridge the gap between business, auditing, and technical teams to ensure that portfolio application processes are scalable, data-driven, and future-ready — leveraging AI and automation to improve efficiency, and decision-making.

This position supports the growing operational needs of the Nuclear business unit as the company expands its nuclear portfolio.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)

  • Liaise between IT and business partners to translate business and regulatory requirements into technical and process solutions.
  • Enhance applications, tools/dashboards for operations, compliance, and risk reporting.
  • Ensure accurate tracking and documentation of application controls.
  • Develop workflows ensuring systems remain compliant with evolving standards.
  • Support audits by preparing data extracts, reports, and system evidence.

 

Business Systems Analysis

  • Document and analyze stakeholder requirements to improve system functionality.
  • Translate complex requirements into functional system specifications and workflows.
  • Conduct system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and process validation.
  • Document process maps, system diagrams, and operating procedures.
  • Become subject matter expert for systems, providing guidance and training

Job Overview

This position is responsible for strategically designing, developing, integrating and implementing information systems and networked software architectures that support core organizational functions. Individuals in this position secure organizational commitment for all systems and software plans and evaluate and select all technologies required to complete those plans.  Employees in this position are responsible for supporting daily system operations within a specified discipline on a 24-hour/7-day-a-week basis.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Utilizes high level knowledge of multiple major components of information technology to recommend innovative solutions, as they relate to current and future business environments 
  • Leads in analysis, planning, design, testing, debugging, configuration and operations of new and current information systems
  • Ensures application processes are conducted in line with applicable standards and company policies
  • Applies appropriate Agile or development methodologies, system development lifecycles, tools and technology, to manage development activities
  • Automates the handoff of code releases from development to operations, wherever possible
  • Aligns technology to nuclear business and refueling operations
  • Leads complex projects when needed and builds strong working understanding of the solution being delivered
  • Participates in the change management and service ticket management processes, including response and resolution monitoring
  • Applies in-depth knowledge and experience and  uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services
  • Acts as liaison with regulatory agencies, vendors, and contractors on matters relating to computer systems, as required
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor's or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 4+ years
