About the role

This position provides leadership and oversight for managing day-to-day facilities maintenance services for Kankakee site related to facilities infrastructure assets and related services. Areas of responsibility include – oversight of infrastructure assets in all classified and un-classified areas, administration and office areas, all amenities, roofs, buildings, roads, parking areas, lawns, sewage & effluent discharge, pest control, and waste management services (hazardous and non- hazardous).

Reporting Relationships:

  • Role that this position reports to:  Director, Site Facilities & Integrated Facilities Management (IFM)

  • Positions reporting into this role: Facilities Supervisors, Facilities System Engineers, Facilities Specialist, Facilities Coordinator, M2U Coordinator.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and execute strategic direction for management of facilities engineering group to ensure reliable and safe operation of facilities equipment and engineering installation.

  • Plan, design, and facilitate strategic, effective, and efficient utilization of space and facilities for the site assets; develop the Site Master Plan.

  • Transform existing facilities maintenance practices, based on IFM strategy, and effectively and efficiently implement the IFM model across the facility such that it is integrated in day-to day facilities maintenance.

  • Provide leadership guidance and direction to direct reports to deliver expected service levels for preventive and corrective maintenance in facilities from CSL staff and IFM vendors. Determine facilities asset specifications.

  • Develop and audit KPIs to monitor IFM performance pertaining to facilities assets that ensures compliance with GMP, FDA, HS&E, Local, State and National laws/ regulations /policies & procedures.

  • Lead continuous improvement to effectively collaborate with manufacturing support groups (Quality, Engineering, and network partners)

  • Support issue resolution to ensure smooth commissioning and qualification of new and existing facility assets.

  • Ensure facilities systems are maintained within budget and master schedule for capital, OPEX, and AMP.

  • Assure compliance with FDA, EPA, and OSHA requirements during all phases of expansion projects. Lead and support regulatory inspections for areas of responsibilities including develop playbooks for the inspections

  • Provides input to project related discipline specific documents to support maintenance and calibration, as well as Facility Management

  • Places a high priority on developing direct reports through coaching, feedback and developmental goals to build, develop and retain a diverse and high performing team

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement through employee selection, training and mentoring while focusing on operational efficiency and the elimination of “non-value added” activities.

  • Completes any other duties/responsibilities assigned by senior management.


Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or local equivalent
• 7+ years practical leadership experience in pharmaceutical industry including direct management experience in Manufacturing, Engineering or Quality Assurance
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes
• Strong employee management skills
• Functional knowledge of cGMPs and manufacturing operations in FDA regulated facility
• Financial experience with high level budgetary responsibilities is required
