VP, Head of Strategic Planning

Responsibilities:
- Elegantly orchestrate the annual strategic planning process that leads to the development of Nasdaq’s long-term strategy to maximize shareholder value.
- Understand and influence what outside-in research & analysis will benefit the development of Nasdaq’s strategy and long-term positioning.
- In partnership with members of the finance organization, continue to challenge the enterprise to strive for aspirational long-term financial and valuation targets by building the case that balances opportunities and risks.
- Create a high-fidelity mechanism and planning cadence for the development and vetting of business cases for new growth vectors.
- Ensure there is a strong translation of our strategic plans into financial plans (Budget) and operating plans (Strategic Priorities, Goals/KPIs, Team-based OKRs, Incentive Plans, etc.). Support the organization in orchestrating the full annual planning cycle.
- Lead agenda, content & narrative development, and event execution for all big leadership moments incl. Quarterly Strategy Reviews, Leadership Strategy Offsites, Board Strategy meetings, etc.
- In consultation with the leadership team, the CMO organization, and leveraging the vast knowledge base about our ecosystem, co-create the corporate strategic narrative that will be used for internal and external audiences (employees, clients, board, investors, regulators)
- Support the Strategy leadership in driving various other planning-oriented outcomes, as necessary.
- Motivate, mentor, and lead a team of talented strategy professionals to deliver outstanding results.
Qualifications:
- 15-20 years of strategic and financial planning, corporate strategy, and / or management consulting experience.
- Deeply experienced in setting up scalable planning processes that help elegantly navigate a complex global organization to influence leadership at the highest levels.
- Strategic & analytical thinker with the ability to put complex ideas into clear frameworks; demonstrate expertise in structured problem solving and strategic financial modeling skills.
- Strong business acumen is necessary to be able to orchestrate the process, challenge assumptions, help accelerate value drivers, and shape the future of the company.
- Talent for synthesizing highly complicated/nuanced ideas along with strong oral and written communication skills.
- A strong understanding of capital markets, financial services, and fintech is preferred.
- This is a high-altitude and consultative role with the ability to dive into the details as necessary.
- Well-honed advisory skills in working with others to elicit information, to think objectively and analytically, and to influence outcomes positively.
- Must have an ability to remain calm under pressure and be able to react positively in the face of uncertainty / pivots.
- Must be proactive, resourceful, and demonstrate intellectual curiosity.
- Exhibit the highest standards of integrity and be pleasant & fun to work with.
Education:
- MBA, Master’s degree, or equivalent work experience preferred.
