About the role

Description

The Security Specialist will ensure that only properly authorized personnel can access the simulator bay. They will greet students and staff and provide access badges to visitors. These duties include but are not limited to; collaborate and coordinate with Navy squadron personnel to assist in the production of training schedules and monitor and document training events in student records; publish certification and official letters; and perform full range of office administrative duties (copying, records, student material binding). 

  • Provide external door entry point access control in simulator building. 
  • Maintain a log of post activity. 
  • Assist in the preparation of flight schedules and distribute paper and electronic copies. Directly assist staff, instructors, and students with administrative tasks. 
  • Ensure multiple doors are properly secured prior to student arrival. 
  • Ensure alarms are properly set prior to student arrival and at the conclusion of assigned watch period. 
  • Verify identity and distribute badges to staff and students. 
  • Conduct hourly inspection of simulator bay and surrounding areas. 
  • Conduct proper turnover with oncoming or off-going watch standers. 
  • Report problems to supervisor, operations staff, building security manager, and/or base security, as required. 
  • Provide administrative support to manage international aviation student control including office administrative duties.
  • Conduct daily inspection of trailer building outside of main building for safety, security, and cleanliness.
  • Maintaining a clean workspace environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Candidates must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check Local Records and Credit (NACLC) or Access National Agency Check with written Inquiries (ANACI), eligibility for a SECRET clearance.
  • Shall be able to obtain a DOD CAC card privileges to ensure access to flight line workspaces and critical information systems.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Must be able to work overtime as required.
  • Must be willing to work any shift or day of the week as required.
  • Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance
