About the team

The Global Communications team leads all external communications and related activities for the Company, coordinating efforts with the internal communications and social teams to ensure maximum impact. Each team member is responsible for telling Roku’s story, promoting and protecting the brand, and supporting partners across every line of business. The team covers Corporate communications (including crisis, financial, partner and policy communications); Devices, Product, Technology and Consumer communications; Content communications (including publicity for Roku Channel and Roku Originals); Advertising communications; and International communications for Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and the United Kingdom.

 

About the role 

The Sr Corporate Communications Manager will work cross functionally across Roku to support our corporate communications activities to further advance our overall corporate voice and narrative. You will support the development and execution of communications strategies and tactics related to corporate communications, financial communications, thought leadership and issues management. Additionally, you will monitor developments affecting both Roku and its industry and assist with the planning and executing a variety of corporate communications efforts. You should be a gritty problem solver and self-starter who can drive projects to completion.

For New York Only - The estimated annual salary for this position is between $153,000 - $229,000 annually.
Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.

What you’ll be doing

  • Evolve, promote, and defend the corporate narrative
  • Develop and execute communications and PR plans that reinforce Roku’s leadership in TV streaming
  • Drive financial communications in support of our quarterly earnings announcements
  • Support the development and execution of communications strategies and tactics related to thought leadership, issues management, and more
  • Participate in overall PR planning and strategy ideation 
  • Develop external corporate communications including press releases, blog posts, and other collateral
  • Draft briefing docs and assist executives and senior leaders in advance of speaking opportunities and media interviews
  • Work cross functionally across the organization to identify compelling data and storylines
  • Evaluate and manage thought leadership speaking opportunities
  • Conduct research to inform communications strategies
  • Maintain and manage list of key industry and financial reporters at business and tech outlets

 

We’re excited if you have

  • 8+ years of experience in communications or public relations (PR agency experience a plus!)
  • Experience working on quarterly earnings
  • Excellent writing and project management skills
  • Well organized, detail oriented, and adaptable 
  • Experience working for publicly traded companies
  • Strong interest/passion for TV, streaming, media, and entertainment 
  • Ability to multi-task and work well in a team environment 
  • Good judgment, particularly in high pressure times 
  • Ability to possess a balance of hard and soft skills including being to respond quickly to changing business needs
  • Excellent ability to understand complex ideas and distill sometimes ambiguous issues 
  • Trustworthy and able to keep highly sensitive information confidential
