Ashland has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Data and AI Leader to join our Ashland business. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Operations function. This position will report to the SVP of Operations.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provides financial analysis support to Global Supply Chain and Global Procurement managers.
  • Analyze, report, and forecast raw material costs at detail level and provide variance commentary to management.
  • Analyze, report, and forecast freight and logistic costs and provide variance commentary to management.
  • Analyze, report and forecast inventory aging and SMOG reserves and provide variance commentary to management.
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis supporting various internal customers as required.
  • Participate in special projects as needed.  i.e. Working capital improvement project and raw material purchase price variance improvement project.
  • Some travel required.

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

  • B.S. in Accounting, Finance or related degree
  • 3-5 years in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong analytical skills, financial planning and analysis background
  • High proficiency in MS Excel is required along with basic knowledge of SAP, Business Warehouse, and Qliktech (or similar ERP, analytical query applications)
  • Must demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Must be customer focused and have effective communications skills
  • Strive for continuous improvement and be highly self-directed
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

  • CPA/CMA/MBA a plus
  • Experience in manufacturing or cost accounting, highly preferred
  • Experience in chemical industry
