Employee Relations Specialist – The Auto Club Group
What you will do:
Conduct investigations related to government regulatory agency and internal employee complaints. Process employee complaints and facilitate resolution. Counsel and serve as mediator for employees and management concerning employee relations problems. Provide interpretation of company policies and procedures. Confer with the Office of the General Counsel regarding company response to Civil Rights complaints and EEOC charges. Gather appropriate data and forwards to the assigned attorney for handling. Serve as the company representative at employment hearings.
Administer the attendance standards and disciplinary action policies. Review documentation and provides pertinent facts to management prior to employee termination proceedings. Conduct exit interviews. Prepare summary reports regarding voluntary termination information and disciplinary action for management review. Research, develop, review, and recommend new personnel policies/procedures and corporate procedures. Complete other projects as assigned.

We’re looking for candidates who:
Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify)
Education (include minimum education and any licensing/certifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Human Resources, Employee Relations, or equivalent work experience
Experience:
Experience as or equivalent to an Employee Relations Counselor, to include:
- developing, interpreting, and administering personnel policies and procedures
- employee counseling, coaching, or evaluating
- extensive professional Human Resources experience in one or more of the following functions:
- employment
- research
- EEO administration
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of:
- in depth knowledge of State and Federal employment laws and regulations
- EEO laws and regulations
- state and federal employment regulations
- effective employee communication techniques
- Principles of Employment Law
- prepare and present reports and/or proposals to all levels of management
- communicate effectively with all levels of management and with the public
- demonstrate strong problem solving and interpersonal skills
Ability to:
- demonstrate strong writing skills for report preparation, proposal writing and general business communications. A writing sample may be required at time of interview.
- communicate effectively with others in a work environment and with the public
- conduct interviews designed to elicit specific information for later analysis and action
- prepare and present reports and/or proposals to all levels of management
- organize and plan
- safely operate a motor vehicle in order to attend unemployment hearings, meetings, etc.

Work Environment
This position is currently able to work remotely from a home office location for day-to-day operations unless occasional travel for meetings, collaborative activities, or team building activities is specified by leadership. This is subject to change based on amendments and/or modifications to the ACG Flex Work policy. Occasional (less than 20% of work time) travel required in order to attend unemployment hearings, meetings, etc. with exposure to road hazards and temperature extremes. Willingness and ability to work irregular hours when necessary.
