Position Summary:As an integral part of Athletico’s accounting/finance team, this position reports to the Accounting Manager and is responsible for a variety of increasingly complex accounting and analytical responsibilities ensuring complete, accurate and timely financial data related to month end close and financial and tax reporting. Additional, the person will assist in special projects. We promote cross training and continuous learning so responsibilities will change over time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all activities associated with month end close pertaining to your specific general ledger accounts
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances and resolve any discrepancies that may arise
- Ensure accuracy of activity in financial statement accounts under your responsibility
- Collaborate with other resource department leaders to obtain information and improve controls
- Develop expertise over assigned areas to become the “go to” person for the company
- Provide back up support via cross training for other associate’s areas
- Be conscious of our goals with our “internal clients” so we provide timely, impactful data and analyses
- Be a leader on the team
- Create, update and maintain reconciliation work papers
- Assist in preparation of management and bank reports, accompanying schedules andnarratives. Investigate and document significant variances.
- Participate in the annual external audit process and provide support as needed for tax and government audits
- Facilitate and assist in ad hoc projects, as needed

Education and Experience:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Master’s Degree in Accounting preferred
- CPA preferred
- 4-6 years of public or private company experience in accounting
- Microsoft Dynamics experience beneficial
- Blackline experience a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite with expertise in Word and Excel
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Able to read and understand technical financial reports
