Adjunct Instructor (Summer A 2026 - ED 520)

Description

The Warner School at the University of Rochester welcomes applicants for an Adjunct Instructor position. The appointment begins May 18, 2026 and ends June 26, 2026. This is a short-term position and will teach the 3-credit course “ED 520 - Program Evaluation” for the Summer A 2026 academic session.

Course Description:
Program evaluation continues to grow in importance and is utilized in many fields, including education, criminal justice, science and technology, and health and human services. It is a form of applied research that involves the systematic collection and analysis of data with the purpose of evaluating the design, implementation and/or effectiveness of programs or projects under review. This introduction to program evaluation course is designed to provide an overview of both past and current perspectives on approaches to evaluation, including theory, method and practice. In this course, students critically examine the historical context of program evaluation, major evaluation theories and theorists, and approaches to evaluation. Students have the chance to apply the theories covered in the course through case study analyses. Students gain an understanding of theories, applications and approaches within the context of formal program evaluation and are able to develop a program evaluation design.

 

Qualifications

Applicants must have a record of excellence in both teaching and practice. Experience with online instruction and Blackboard is desired. Applicant must have a master’s degree in a related field and the ability to teach courses at the graduate level.
