Job Summary:

Bizzell US has an immediate opening for an on-site Accounting Project Specialist.. The position will support a program to assist the NASA AMES facility.


Responsibilities

• Financial Management: Oversee and manage the financial aspects of assigned projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

• Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all financial activities comply with NASA/JPL policies, federal regulations, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders.

• Project Accounting: Monitor and track project costs, invoices, and contracts to ensure they are within the scope and budget. Assist in the allocation of funds and resources across multiple projects.

• Data Analysis: Perform financial data analysis to support decision-making, identify trends, and provide recommendations for cost optimization.

• Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other departments to align financial objectives with project goals. Provide financial guidance and support to project teams.

• Audit Support: Prepare for and assist with internal and external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and records are accurate and current.

• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements within the accounting and project management functions. Implement best practices to improve efficiency and accuracy.

• Contract Management: Review and analyze project contracts to ensure compliance with financial terms and conditions. Coordinate with legal and procurement teams as needed.

• Training and Development: Provide training and mentorship to junior accounting staff and project team members on financial processes and best practices.

Requirements


Key Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in a government contracting or aerospace environment.

• Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Experience with project management tools is a plus.

• Knowledge: A strong understanding of GAAP, federal contracting regulations, and financial reporting requirements is desirable. Familiarity with NASA's financial systems and processes is also desirable.<
