Tech EVS/Housekeeper - 2nd Shift

1. Cleans and services patient rooms, offices and hallways, as well as other inpatient, outpatient and ancillary areas.

• Strips and makes patient beds after discharge of patient.
• Performs isolation cleaning and dismissal cleaning as assigned.
• Dusts furniture and equipment.
• Cleans windows, empties trash, tidies rooms.
• Cleans and polishes baths, sinks, mirrors, etc., and refills soap and towels.
• Dusts light fixtures and vents in all areas.
• Polishes and cleans glass and metal hardware on doors.
• Cleans lab, x-ray, surgery area (O.R.), emergency rooms (E.R.), labor/delivery (O.B.), and other areas on a scheduled basis.
• Cleans office areas in accordance to policies.
• Moves furniture such as beds, chairs tables, etc.
• Collects trash and linens from assigned areas and deposit them in the appropriate place for pick-up or removal.

2. Promotes and ensures patient and staff safety in all aspects of responsibilities.

• Reports hazardous conditions and/or areas in need of repair to Supervisor or other appropriate personnel.
• Uses chemicals only for their intended use and follows department procedure for dispensing and/or mixing chemicals.
• Utilizes proper personal protective equipment (PPE).

 3. Ensures proper supplies and equipment are maintained.

• Keeps utility rooms clean and replenished with supplies.
• Cleans work/supply carts, equipment, etc. as necessary/directed.
• Reports equipment malfunctions.

4. Performs other duties as assigned.
