Job Details

Join Cleveland Clinic’s Martin South Hospital where research and surgery are advanced, technology is leading-edge, patient care is world-class, and caregivers are family. This 100-bed hospital provides top-quality patient care to the communities in and around Martin County. Here, you will work alongside passionate physicians, nurses and other caregivers in a family-oriented, supportive environment.

Sometimes, an Emergency Department visit is not long enough for caregivers to understand a condition or provide the appropriate recovery time. The Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) cares for patients awaiting results to determine if discharge or readmittance is necessary. As a Team Center Coordinator on the team, you will provide a high level of customer service to patients, families, visitors and caregivers to promote and support the highest level of patient experience. In this role, you will perform administrative and clerical duties to ensure efficient operational flow while also providing or assisting with basic direct patient care activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). This opportunity allows you to be valued as a team member and supported as you achieve your goals. You’ll work alongside highly trained caregivers, gain hands-on experience and skills, build a rewarding career and if you desire, continue your education.

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00AM – 7:30PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.

  • Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.

  • Communicate and facilitate communication with patients, families, other departments and health care team members regarding patient care.

  • Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.

  • Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources.

  • Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.

  • Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.

  • Provide or assist with basic patient care activities, such as vital signs, weights, personal care, activities of daily living, patient transfers and transports, pulse oximetry and point of care testing.

  • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental or emotional condition to an RN.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High School Diploma or GE
