About the Job
The Technical Sales & Service (TSR) Internship is a field-based program that will expose inspiring bakers to various industry customer channels, baking principles and techniques. In addition, there will be extensive hands-on work focused on Dawn Foods Manufactured products as well as commodities. While traveling to customers with a current Dawn Foods Technical Sales & Service Representative the intern will be exposed to and participate in the day-to-day responsibilities including trouble shooting, innovation/creativity, selling and training. The TSR Intern will interact with internal cross functional partners including Sales Team Members and external customers. Finally, the TSR Intern, with the support of the assigned Dawn TSR, will make a presentation to a Dawn Team of Leaders focused on what they have learned including demonstration of their baking industry skills with a product presentation.
The TSR Internship is a field position and should expect 75% or more travel depending on location. TSR Internship location will be in Metro Kansas City. The Internship will require a personal vehicle and a valid Driver’s License. Mileage will be reimbursed per Dawn’s travel policy. Hours will vary based on customer need, but the intern can expect 8-hour days/session and potential early morning or evening hours.

Interns will be required to be onsite at the Corporate Jackson office from May 19 - May 22 for onboarding, and from August 6 - 8 for final presentations. These are mandatory participation dates for the internship program.
What Does It Take to be an Intern at Dawn Foods?
Below are the minimum qualifications for the Dawn Inspire Internship Program.
- Pursuing either a culinary certification/degree, have a strong interest in pursuing a culinary certification/degree, or have a defined interest within the food industry.
- Strong interest in Baking and Pastry Arts and developing a career in the baking industry.
- Basic understanding of baking science and processes, ingredient functionality, food safety and equipment.
