We are seeking a Staff Engineer, Enterprise Integration to lead the architecture, development, and scaling of enterprise integration solutions that power automation, data flow, and AI enabled workflows across the organization. This role owns the integration layer that connects business-critical platforms (ERP, HRIS, TMS, Fleet/Driver Operations, Supply Chain, Finance) and enterprise productivity and collaboration tools (Slack, Google Workspace, Jira), enabling seamless automation, data flow, and cross-system orchestration.
The ideal candidate brings deep enterprise integration expertise across event-driven architectures, API design, iPaaS platforms, and integration patterns at scale, and understands how to design integrations that are reliable, observable, secure, extensible, and designed for diverse consumption models. You will define the integration architecture blueprint, partner with iPaaS vendors and engineering teams, and work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver production-grade solutions that improve productivity and operational scalability.
In this role you will
- Architect, build, and scale enterprise integration solutions connecting systems of record (ERP, HRIS, TMS, Fleet/Driver Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, CRM) and enterprise productivity and collaboration platforms (Slack, Google Workspace, Jira) using iPaaS platforms (Workato preferred; MuleSoft experience also valued) and API and service-driven patterns. Hands-on work spans data mapping, schema transformation, connector development, error handling across system boundaries, and authoring custom software where platform capabilities don’t suffice.
- Define and own the enterprise integration architecture blueprint: layered integration design with clear system abstraction, process orchestration, and consumer-facing API contracts. Establish recipe and connector standards, testing strategies, governance frameworks, and citizen developer guardrails with clear engineering boundaries to achieve organizational scale, reduce tech debt, and maintain sustainable integration delivery velocity.
- Design system-to-system integrations with observability, error management, reliability, security, cost efficiency, and idempotency as first-class concerns. Apply cost-conscious design choices to scale without incurring unnecessary platform and infrastructure spend.
- Develop and maintain custom Workato connectors, recipes, and testing suites. Own CI/CD pipelines for integration deployments, ensuring consistent quality and release discipline across the integration platform. Leverage GenAI tools to accelerate integration development, testing, and documentation.
- Partner with IT, driver engineering and services, cloud/platform engineering, security, and data platform teams to ensure integration architecture aligns with enterprise-wide technical standards, infrastructure capabilities, and security requirements.
- Partner with iPaaS vendors and internal platform teams to manage the integration technology stack, drive roadmap alignment, and ensure the organization extracts maximum value from its tooling investments.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders across Finance, HR, Legal, Fleet Operations, Supply Chain, and Commercial Operations to identify automation opportunities, prioritize the integration backlog, and translate requirements into integration-driven solutions. Manage competing demands across domain teams and build a clear integration roadmap aligned to business priorities.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership as a staff-level engineer: define architectural vision, lead architecture reviews, create integration playbooks and architectural decision records, set engineering standards, and drive adoption across teams.
- Enable AI workflows to leverage enterprise integrations through callable recipes, versioned API contracts, and discovery protocols such as MCP, whether hosted on the iPaaS platform or the AWS ecosystem. Support human-in-the-loop and agent-to-agent orchestration patterns.
- Evaluate emerging integration, workflow automation, and AI-enablem
