Meditech Application Support Analyst

Summary The Meditech Application Support Analyst provides project management and coordinates patient care process design and reviews activities access for the organization to ensure maximum benefits and enhancements are functioning correctly.   

Responsible for ongoing maintenance and development of the various clinical software and applications used within the facility as well as new system implementations. The position has the responsibility of working as a liaison and project manager between administration, IT and the clinical departments on various projects that are assigned by IT management.  Duties include but are not limited to implementation of new applications, maintenance, and user training on assigned modules and applications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Oversite of Meditech applications within hospital environment
• Onsite and remote support of clinical and financial applications
• Leads teams to implement new projects and upgrade systems.
• Create and maintain documentation for workflow and procedures for IT processes 
• Create and close tickets in Help Desk system per department guidelines 
• Work with departments to improve workflow through systems applications
• Development of education and training materials 
• Provides technical support, troubleshooting and problem resolution services to computer and telephone end-users.
• Provides excellent customer service to resolve issues and maintains systems.
• Produces and maintains systems documentation.
• Provides support, performs root cause analysis and issues resolution for problems in all applications. This includes after-hour maintenance and end user support as required.
• Assists with ensuring adequate security measures and procedures are in place to maintain the confidentiality of the gathered data and distribution/access is only made to the appropriate, designated personnel.
• Acts as a liaison for nurses, physicians and ancillary areas to translate clinical requirements into clinical systems.
• Assists with process redesign and coordinates clinical workflow.
• Assesses implementation strategies and the impact those strategies will have on workflows and operations.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Minimum qualifications for this position are a Bachelor's degree or 3+ years experience in Healthcare environment, general knowledge of patient workflow, working knowledge of Hospital clinical and financial systems. 

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail is required. 
• Problem-solving skills, a positive attitude, ability to work independently, ability to multitask, and being a flexible team player are required.  
• Must have excellent customer service skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.
• Meditech health information system highly desirable.

Experience in the installation of application development methodology and standards.
