Job Description

HII Mission Technologies has a need for a Engineering Technician 5 who is detailed oriented and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain all TCTS systems/sub-systems and associated equipment.
  • Apply comprehensive technical knowledge to solve problems.
  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on all TCTS subsystems and associated interface equipment.
  • Extensive equipment handling and administrative processing to prepare/deliver equipment to meet exercise requirements.
  • Pack equipment, parts, etc. for shipment. Documents maintenance actions in IEMS, various log books, and databases.
  • Operate and maintain the Tactical Combat Training System (TCTS) components comprised of; Live Monitor (LM)/Mission Line-Up (MLU)/Firewall (FW)/Electronic Warfare Server (EWS)/Electronic Warfare Multiplexor (EW-MUX)/Radar Acquisition Display System (RADS)/Joint Debriefing Subsystem (JDS)/Personal Combat Display System (PCDS)/Individual Combat Aircrew Display System (ICADS), Joint Anti-Air Modeling (JAAM) equipment.  
  • Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems that typically cannot be solved by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM)/Corrective Maintenance (CM) on assigned equipment.  
  • Perform organizational, intermediate, and depot-level maintenance on assigned equipment.  
  • Coordinate schedule and work with Job Control (JC).  
  • Verify operability after maintenance actions.  
  • Document all maintenance actions, isolates malfunctions. Incorporates approved system patches, upgrades and engineering changes as required. 
  • Perform complex troubleshooting, isolates malfunctions, and repairs to the board. Work typically requires understanding of network principles/theory, Windows and Linux operating systems, AC/DC power supplies, digital/analog signal processing, and RF theory. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for compliance with accepted practices.
  • Supervise special tests, evaluations, equipment relocations, and new equipment installations as required. Performs organizational and intermediate-level maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence and in selecting tools and testing instruments. Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or higher-level technician. Performs corrosion control on all assigned equipment.
