Senior Technician, Development Engineering

The Senior Technician, Development Engineering is responsible for contributing to a variety of functions related to formulation development including, batching, labeling, sample filling, stability testing, and performance testing to meet the expanding organizational and market needs of our growing Global Repellents business including the OFF! and Autan brands.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and other relevant regulatory requirements to ensure compliance with internal quality standards and external regulations

• Conduct stability testing of formulas and maintain thorough records compliant with good laboratory practices

• Ability to operate standard laboratory equipment

• Conduct stability testing including pH, viscosity, color, odor, and appearance

• Conduct product performance testing and performance evaluations on formulated products to assess quality, efficacy

• Record and analyze experimental data, documenting observations, results, and conclusions in electronic laboratory notebooks to assure corporate compliance

• Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and inventory, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and proper functioning for efficient operation

• Batch and fill samples as needed for Marketing and R&D requests

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, quality control, and regulatory affairs, to support product development projects and meet project timelines

• Ship products internationally as needed

• Assist team with regionalizing formulas 

• Participate in brainstorming sessions, contribute innovative ideas with deep technical expertise, and stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in process engineering

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

• 2-year technical degree or other related science and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience

  • OR

• A high school diploma and a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience

• Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS

• Experience in the consumer products industry

• Advanced understanding of basic chemistry principles and laboratory techniques, including weighing, mixing, emulsification, and viscosity measurement

• Experience with handling (Good Laboratory Practices) GLP batching and documentation

• Experience with Liquid & Aerosol Filling

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and record-keeping skills, able to document procedures, results, and observations accurately and efficiently

• Strong Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

• Proven track record of meeting deadlines; ability to multi-task and manage time effectively

• Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate technical information clearly and concisely

• Able to complete a variety of atypical assignments and flexible to accommodate making significant changes to assigned work routine or schedule
