Description:

Prepares tissue, biopsies and skin for gross pathology. Gross pathology involves the dictation of overall description of specimen to include size, the cutting of the specimen, loading specimens into processor to prepare specimen blocks for specimen block cutting staining, and Pathology analysis. Registers patient/specimens, assigning unique numbers to each 

specimen, and orders tests, which are tied to charges. Processes surgical specimens by a frozen process to quickly prepare specimens for Pathologist analysis for patients during surgery. 

Education 

Minimum: Associate’s Degree or equivalent. 

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in the sciences such as biology and anatomy. 

 

Hours of Work:

40hrs per week

Monday through Friday.  5 pm - 9 pm
No holidays.  No weekends.
