Claim Director

The position will be based out of the Southeast Region with candidates in the State of Florida.  The adjuster will handle a mix of field adjuster and Claim Director type claims.  Claim Director claims involve more severity and complexity and may also require additional travel throughout the United States.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Appropriately evaluate and estimate damages while inspecting loss site(s).
2. Analyze first reports and promptly contact insured’s.
3. Effectively evaluate contract language and identify coverage issues.
4. Promptly and appropriately develop the file to provide accurate and timely investigation and loss analysis.
5. Maintain an active file diary to move file toward resolution.
6. Recognize and pursue recovery.
7. Adhere to all statutory and regulatory fair claims practices.
8. Recognize and identify potential fraudulent claims.
9. Effectively control the use, work product, and expenses of outside vendors.
10. Effectively evaluate claim facts and negotiate claim settlements.
11. Full knowledge of commercial insurance contracts, investigation techniques, legal requirements, and insurance regulations a plus.
12. Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people.
13. An aptitude for evaluating, analyzing, and interpreting information.
14. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
15. Ability to work well in teams.
16. Innovative thinker with ability to multi-task.
17. Strong customer service skills.
18. Very comfortable working with computers including taking notes while on the phone while toggling between different computer programs.
19. Willing to be flexible in work hours (rotating late shift, occasional Saturday, overtime for CAT).
20. Current Claims Adjuster licenses in one or more states preferred but must be willing to obtain additional state licensures.

 

|EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

• Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience.

• Minimum five years of property claims adjusting experience. 

• Develop and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external customers.

• Serve as a technical resource to lesser experienced Adjusters on the team.

•Successfully contribute to the development and delivery of the team’s goals, objectives and results.

•Supports workload surges and/or Catastrophe Operations as needed to include working overtime during designated CATs.

The pay range for the role is $73,000 to $124,500. The specific offer will depend on an applicant’s skills and other factors.
