About the role

Job Summary

  • Support budget-related tasks of the implementation of the program including working with budget tracking sheets
  • Process payments for speakers, vendors, and faculty fellows
  • Process contracts via Cal Poly systems to add vendors to our system
  • Perform scheduling of individual and group meetings and arrange appropriate details (room reservation, catering, materials, etc.)
  • Assist with customer service by answering phones, sitting at the front desk, and assisting with general inquiries from students, faculty, and staff
  • Ability to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
  • Must be comfortable calling vendors and placing orders and coordinating deliveries
  • Assist with data cleanup and management related to attendance at events
  • Assist with writing and development of templates for annual reports
  • Support administrative functions of the office by using preferred office communication and management platforms such as Outlook, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Excel, etc.
  • Other light clerical work and related duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university. One year of technical or administrative experience. A graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Salary:

Anticipated Hiring Range:  $27.69 - $30.57 Per Hour

Classification Range:  $27.69 - $40.34 Per Hour

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Anticipated Hiring Range referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Classification Range may be broader than what the University anticipates paying for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
