JOB DEFINITION:
DESC is seeking a dedicated and innovative Corporate Relations Officer to drive partnerships with local businesses. This role focuses on creating and nurturing relationships that help raise revenue, increase awareness about homelessness, and foster compassion for the complex needs of people experiencing long-term unsheltered living. The Corporate Relations Officer will leverage community-centric fundraising (CCF) principles, emphasizing equity, inclusivity, and collaboration, to build and sustain networks of businesses committed to supporting DESC’s mission.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Partnership Development:
- Identify and engage local businesses and corporate partners who align with DESC’s mission and values.
- Develop tailored partnership proposals that highlight mutual benefits and potential impact on the community.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing corporate partners through regular communication, updates, and recognition of their support.
2. Revenue Generation:
- Create and implement strategies to secure financial contributions, in-kind donations, and sponsorships from corporate partners.
- Collaborate with the Development team to integrate corporate giving into DESC’s overall fundraising strategy.
- Track and report on corporate giving metrics and outcomes, ensuring transparency and accountability.
3. Awareness and Advocacy:
- Design and execute campaigns to raise awareness about homelessness and DESC’s comprehensive services among the business community.
- Organize events, workshops, and presentations to educate corporate partners about the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness and the impact of DESC’s work.
- Develop content and materials that effectively communicate DESC’s mission, values, and the importance of corporate support.
4. Business Community Engagement:
- Foster a sense of community stewardship among corporate partners, encouraging them to participate in DESC initiatives and volunteer opportunities.
- Create platforms for businesses to collaborate on projects that address homelessness and support DESC’s clients.
- Highlight success stories and collective achievements to inspire ongoing and increased corporate engagement.
5. Network Building:
- Establish and maintain a network of business leaders and corporate decision-makers who are committed to social responsibility and community impact.
- Facilitate connections between corporate partners and other stakeholders, including government agencies, nonprofits, and community groups.
- Leverage DESC’s existing networks to expand reach and build new partnerships.
