Fleet Maintenance Technician I (2nd Shift)
Our Fleet Operations Department is responsible for the repair and service of our more than 2,000 fleet vehicles. We are hiring two (2) Fleet Maintenance Technicians to provide onsite fleet services for light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and other equipment alongside other experienced technicians. Our fleet is made up of vehicles from Ford, Chevy, Peterbilt, Caterpillar, and Kenworth. The work that you perform ensures our fleet of vehicles remain in top condition, ensuring our utility crews are able to provide safe and efficient utility services to the community.
Please note that these positions operate on a Monday-Friday, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM schedule, and as such, are eligible for shift differential pay.
A day in the life of a Fleet Maintenance Technician I may include:
- Performing preventative maintenance on our fleet of vehicles, including:
- Checking and changing fluids and oils, and replacing filters
- Maintaining and replacing tires, belts, hoses, wiper blades, and minor welding services
- Inspecting tires for pressure and wear and tear, and balancing, repairing, and/or replacing tires as needed
- Checking and replacing belts and hoses
- Conducting brake repairs
- Washing, detailing, waxing, and cleaning vehicles, and replacing wiper blades
- Picking up parts from suppliers and performing customer service-related functions such as picking up and delivering vehicles
- Collaborating with Master and Level II Fleet Technicians on minor services and repairs
Who You Are
- Demonstrated experience in a fleet maintenance, diesel, or automotive mechanic capacity
- Possession of a Light or Heavy Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification is valued
- Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license is required
- Possession of a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) must be obtained within six (6) months of hire
