- Curriculum Development and Oversight: Lead the design, implementation, and continuous assessment of the dental school curriculum, ensuring alignment with best practices in dental education and industry standards.
- Academic Policy and Compliance: Establish, evaluate, and update academic policies to ensure compliance with accrediting bodies and Yeshiva University’s standards, supporting the successful progression and graduation of students.
- Faculty Recruitment and Development: Oversee faculty recruitment, onboarding, and professional development initiatives, working to foster a supportive, collaborative, and inclusive academic environment.
- Student Academic Support: Develop and implement strategies to support student success, including advising, tutoring programs, and other academic support services, ensuring an exceptional student experience and high academic standards.
- Accreditation and Assessment: Coordinate all accreditation and assessment activities related to the academic programs, ensuring the dental school maintains accreditation and meets required benchmarks.
- Resource and Budget Management: Collaborate with the Dean and administrative staff to manage resources effectively, ensuring academic initiatives are financially sustainable and in line with institutional goals.
- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and execution of the dental school’s strategic plan, focusing on academic initiatives, faculty excellence, and student success.
- DDS/DMD and/or PhD with a minimum of 10 years of experience in academic leadership in dental or medical education.
- Leadership and Team Management: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and motivate a diverse team of faculty and academic staff.
- Strong Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to work effectively with students, faculty, administrators, and external stakeholders.
- Curricular Expertise: In-depth knowledge of curriculum development, instructional methods, and assessment strategies relevant to dental education.
- Strategic and Analytical Thinking: Ability to develop, implement, and assess strategic initiatives that promote academic excellence and align with institutional goals.
- Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: Dedication to fostering an inclusive academic environment that supports the success of diverse student and faculty populations.
- Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with accrediting and licensing standards for dental education, as well as broader regulatory requirements in higher education.
