The Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering (CORE) Technology division is responsible for enabling and evolving Capital One’s foundational cloud infrastructure layer, including observability, connectivity, resilience and availability.

This position is on the Cloud Compliance Actions team, part of the Cloud Maturity Governance space in Cloud Enablement focused on delivering the next evolution of reporting and corrective cloud actions for the entire company. The team collaborates closely with partners who manage UIs for reporting noncompliance, systems that manage asset inventory, cloud control authors, and scanning platforms in charge of policy evaluation, all with the intent of delivering a customer experience that drives user action, ultimately improving the cybersecurity posture of the company. We strive to enable engineers across the company to correct configuration issues with their resources and allow safe modifications to resources in the cloud with minimal risk of downtime.

What You’ll Do: 

• Work to expose safe cloud actions to horizontal enterprise teams across the cloud providers

• Drive a positive developer experience in interactions with the noncompliance ecosystem through thoughtful implementation of notifications, escalations, and integration patterns

• Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions in full-stack development tools and technologies

• Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, mentoring other members of the engineering community

• Collaborate with product managers, and deliver robust cloud-based solutions 

• Utilize programming languages like TypeScript, Python, and Go, NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services including Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS tools and services 

Basic Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree

• At least 3 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in at least one of the following: TypeScript, ReactJS, Python, or Go

• 3+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, or Microsoft Azure

• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
