About this role:

As a Senior DevOps Solutions Engineer at Gruntwork, you'll be responsible for two core areas:

• Activating new customers:

  • Translate customer problems and needs into DevOps strategies

  • Leverage Gruntwork internal tooling to implement customers for use cases that we support

  • Write docs and code up solutions to bridge small gaps between what the product supports and what customers need

  • Teach customers how to use our products, along with general DevOps best practices

  • Share insights with the product team

• Supporting existing customers:

  • Engage customers in our community Slack workspace

  • Directly respond to customers for tier 1 support

  • Delegate to SMEs within Gruntwork for questions that require special expertise

  • Periodically meet with customers to unblock them

  • Streamline the support process by building automations and reporting

  • Share even more insights with the product team

About the team:

We're a close-knit team, and you'll engage with nearly all of us. You'll work closely with our sales team to receive customer handoffs, with our engineers and SMEs to understand deep technical questions, and with our product and marketing teams to collaborate on customer needs.

About you:

We’re looking for a Grunt who:

• Has extensive AWS foundations experience. You have worked for years with AWS, have deep familiarity with AWS networking (VPC), foundational best practices (Organizations, SCPs, Landing Zone), and security best practices.

• Has extensive Terraform experience. You have directly authored plenty of Terraform modules, you've operated Terraform in prod and can speak from your years of experience, and you're excited to use OpenTofu.

• Has a passion for DevOps best practices. You're passionate about the best way to run modern cloud infrastructure in a secure, convenient, and enjoyable way.

• Loves to write docs. You enjoy writing. When you solve a problem for a customer, you're eager to memorialize your solution as new docs for others to benefit from.

• Loves to code up a quick fix. When a tool you're using doesn't do what you need you update the Tofu code or write a quick Bash or Python script to get yourself on your way.

• Loves making customers happy. You're a people person and like making customers happy. You're eager to leverage your talents to meet their needs.

• Loves to learn. You're excited abut learning new things, and looking to be at the forefront of AWS, OpenTofu, and DevOps best practices.
