JOB SUMMARY:
The Delivery District Leader is responsible for leading a team of frontline employees to deliver orders to key customers in a fast-paced direct store delivery environment. The Delivery District leader will work closely with the Delivery Manager responsible for the site. Position is directly responsible for a team of full-time Delivery Drivers.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a group of 12-18 delivery drivers (CDL certified)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsibilities:
- Manage a group of 12-18 delivery drivers (CDL certified)
- Answer Field customer calls regarding deliveries and ensure 100% customer service
- Ensure store delivery time windows are met daily
- Work proactively with sales representatives and warehouse operations to understand the needs of the customers and sales force
- Coach, lead, and develop drivers to support the sales organization and improve daily productivity via gate-to-gate route rides twice a week, minimum
- Maintain process improvement to further enhance productivity of deliveries
- Ensure compliance of Department of Transportation and PBC safety standards
- Conduct team meetings and safety training to ensure that preventive measures are enforced
- Demonstrate strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills
- Possess very strong organizational and prioritizing skills
- Have a highly developed sense of urgency

QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 2 years managing frontline employees
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent work experience
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/ or weekends
- Must be willing to get Class A, CDL certified
- Must be willing and able to lift up to 40 lbs. periodically
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Safe driving record strongly preferred

- Operating trucks requiring a CDL license (for example, performing basic functions like driving forwards, driving backwards, or maneuvering in tight spaces)
- Adhering to all DOT regulations (for example, reading and comprehending documentation or maintaining current documentation such as medical cards)
- Merchandising products (for example, filling shelves, building displays, making products look attractive on shelves, rotating product, cleaning shelves, or eliminating out of stocks and out of date products)
- Using equipment to aid in hauling loads (for example, operating pallet jacks, using dock plates, or using load bars and straps)
- Operating equipment (pallet jacks, lift gates on trailers, hand trucks, breakdowns, etc.)
- Documenting DOT regulations (for example, reading and comprehending documentation or maintaining current documentation such as medical cards)
physical requirements:
- Ability to lift 20-45 lbs repeatedly during work hours
- Ability to push/pull using 40-150 pounds of force occasionally during work hours
- Prolong periods of sitting or walking
