Accounting Team Lead

At MetaSource we are looking for an experienced Accounting Team Lead to join our dynamic Accounting and Payroll team. The ideal person for this role will enjoy working in a 100% remote team environment, coordinating day-to-day accounting and payroll team activities while helping to ensure correct processes are followed, internal controls are maintained, while having an eye for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Ensures bi-monthly payroll is accurate and processed on time and assists in overseeing day-to-day payroll activities. 
• Oversees the processing of all ACH/Checks and ensuring the payments and placement of all detail information is added to the appropriate documents. 
• Assists with billing, maintenance renewals, collections, ordering, accounts receivable, payment application and other day-to-day accounting responsibilities.  
• Assists in establishing and maintaining systems and controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data.
• Oversees and improves month-end close processes and procedures, including performing/reviewing account reconciliations, ensuring billing deadlines are met, assisting in payment processing on expiring renewals in addition to any other month end processes that need to be completed. 
• Assists in the year-end audits and processes any requests throughout the year.
• Coordinates various ad hoc projects and works to compile a variety of reports. 
• Works with the team to analyze and implement best-practice accounting controls and processes. 

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus three to five years of accounting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1-2 years of previous supervisory or management experience required.
• Ability to think “outside the box” and offer ideas for improvement and efficiency. 
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Intermediate level excel skills with the ability to compile reports and analyze data. 
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with integrated financial software systems, NetSuite experience preferred. 
• Experience with HRIS/Payrolls systems, Paylocity experience preferred.
