About the team

Join our Infrastructure Services team and play a pivotal role in redefining our engineering platform for the next level of scale and efficiency. We are tackling ambitious, business-critical goals to modernize our services by removing legacy solutions and moving to the latest and greatest engineering setup. You'll be driving a fundamental shift towards a fully automated, test-driven, Infrastructure-as-Code environment to enable daily, incident-free deployments. Your expertise will directly impact our company's profitability and ability to innovate, creating a secure, cost-effective, and highly reliable platform for Mambu's future.

What you’ll do

• Collaborate with team members and tech leads to identify technical opportunities and risks within projects and contribute to the team's technical direction.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of project-level architecture and roadmaps, ensuring alignment with team and product goals.
• Adhere to and promote team-level standards, processes, and best practices for coding and design, helping to improve consistency and quality within the team.
• Apply architectural principles and standards within the team's projects, providing insights into the technical health of the team's codebase.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers within the team to ensure consistent quality, foster innovation, and help them align with team objectives.
• Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure solutions for features or services owned by the team, contributing to the performance of the cloud platform.
• Ensure technology solutions developed by the team align with established organizational and team standards and project objectives.
• Implement and improve continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) practices within the team, enhancing visibility and predictability of engineering processes.
• Drive engineering excellence within the team to deliver scalable, on-time solutions that meet customer requirements while actively managing technical debt.
• Contribute to the team's efficient use of resources by optimizing cloud costs and resource utilization within the scope of team projects.
• Provide regular updates to the tech lead or engineering manager on project progress, technical risks, and proposed corrective actions.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to the team's domain, sharing knowledge and helping the team upskill.
• Contribute to the implementation of AI solutions within the team's projects, collaborating with cross-functional team members to deliver impactful features while ensuring ethical and secure adoption.

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years of experience in developing and maintaining cloud infrastructure, demonstrating strong technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Proven technical contributor with solid technical depth, a track record of delivering successful features, good decision-making, and a collaborative approach within a team.
• Experience in mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance within engineering teams. Has a hands-on approach, actively participating in team activities like code reviews and troubleshooting.
• Experience applying machine learning concepts and assisting in deploying scalable, ethical AI solutions within a project or team context, aligning with immediate business goals.
• Skilled in following team-level technology standards, contributing to efficient cloud resource usage, and understanding cost implications for their projects.
• Up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in scalable architectures and modern technologies relevant to their team's domain.
• Strong experience with at least one major cloud computing platform (AWS is a must, GCP or Azure experience is a plus).
• Extensive experience in containerization, including Docker and Kubernetes, for deploying and managing applications.
• Experience in successfully migrating customer environments or services within a team or project scope.
• Expertise in observability practices, leveraging tools for monitoring, logging, and tracing (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) for their team's applications.
• Strong skills in deployment automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
• Proven experience in DevOps methodologies, contributing to and utilizing CI/CD pipelines with tools such as GitLab.
