Summary of Position:    This position oversees programs which address broad student needs including student conduct, conflict resolution, student referrals, and assists with sexual assault and harassment education. It provides leadership in the ongoing development and implementation of a campus-wide student conduct program, utilizing best practices in the field and ensuring compliance with pertinent legislation.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for ongoing development, implementation, assessment, and evaluation of a comprehensive student conduct system and processes
• Conduct student conduct and Title IX investigations and meetings, compile and evaluate evidence, record and maintain appropriate documentation and conduct files, make determinations of findings, assign and monitor educational sanctions, and communicate and follow-up with students and other individuals as appropriate 
• Serve as supervisor and resource for Residence Life staff concerning residential violations. Train Residence Life Staff on the student conduct code, processes, database, and philosophy to ensure a consistent, effective, and compassionate approach that addresses issues at the lowest level necessary to address behavior and promote life-long learning
• Meet with students referred by the Spiritual Formation office for chapel integrity issues, by Campus Police for incident violations, and by Academic Affairs for certain integrity/honesty matters, maintain and update addiction assessment and referral processes, student intervention systems, and programs to promote positive change, refer students for counseling and assessment as needed 
• Meet with students, provide counsel, and refer as necessary regarding spiritual, personal, emotional or academic problems, create and regularly train a Case Review Board, comprised of faculty, staff, and students, maintain and administrate campus conduct database system, develop and oversee the office web page and portal page, and work with the chair of the C.A.R.E. Team to maintain and revise methods of communication with appropriate individuals/organizations regarding mental health situations 
• Work with Campus Police to create annual security reports in compliance with the Clery Act 
• Update and develop appropriate policies in the Student Handbook judiciously using campus legal counsel to maintain compliance and mitigate risk 
• Review, edit, update, and publish the Student Handbook working in concert with various campus offices 
• Serve as member of the C.A.R.E. Team, Academic Appeals Committee, and other committees as assigned
• Maintain working relationships with Residence Life, Campus Police & Emergency Management, the Center for Student Success, Academic Affairs, and Athletics
• Coordinate review of applicants with criminal history or conduct history at prior institutions 
• Conduct student conduct history checks as requested by on campus offices 
• Provide and/or assist with education and programming for Title IX and substance use 
• Participate in professional organizations and attend conferences that pertain to the related aspects of this position 
• Present information on the Student Handbook and Community Standards, conduct process, and philosophy of conduct 
• Market outreach activities that educate the university community on the student conduct process and the Student Code of conduct 
• Serve as a resource for students on allegations of sexual assault and harassment 
• Evaluate and assess office functions and services 
• Be on-call and available via cell phone for university emergencies and crises

Education

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Master’s degree in Student Affairs or related field strongly preferred

Experience

• Minimum of two to three (2-3) years of related experience
