The Role

Congo Brands (Prime, Alani Nu & 3D Energy) places a strong emphasis on channelling investments into the IT infrastructure and an accomplished Director of IT & Business Systems will discern the company's IT requirements, introducing upgrades and refinements to existing computer systems while promptly addressing employees' technical concerns. This role also demands a comprehensive grasp of business goals, collaborative engagement with internal stakeholders, and a blend of expertise and innovation to automate processes and streamline data flow whenever viable.

Key Responsibilities

Information Technology

  • Formulate and execute the organization's technological vision, strategy, and innovation roadmap in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Evaluate the performance of existing systems to gauge productivity levels and ascertain upgrade necessities.
  • Institute and uphold cybersecurity measures, protocols, and stance.
  • Furnish visionary leadership for IT program development and execution.
  • Supervise the formulation, execution, and upkeep of the corporate IT infrastructure, guaranteeing its dependability, security, and expandability. Propose and determine the company’s enduring system and infrastructure requisites.
  • Oversee the creation and testing of IT business continuity blueprints.
  • Direct and/or manage external vendors. Engage in negotiations regarding pricing and service-level agreements with IT vendors; oversee service delivery to ensure adherence to agreed-upon targets and standards.
  • Ensure the establishment and adherence to comprehensive IT security measures and compliance standards, designed to shield sensitive data and bolster safeguards against cyber threats.

Business Systems

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for IT operations, regularly monitoring and reporting on performance metrics to relevant stakeholders. Institute and elevate business methodologies, frameworks, and utilities in alignment with enterprise goals.
  • Assist the business in evaluating, procuring, and executing novel technologies.
  • Foster collaboration across departments to deliver technology-driven solutions.
  • Formulate and execute strategies for Connected Operations.
  • Oversee the construction, testing, deployment, planning, and reporting of business systems.
  • Supervise technological resources, risk mitigation, and internal/external communications.
  • Craft, revise, and uphold all corporate processes and protocols to ensure operational efficiency while maintaining robust disaster recovery plans and business continuity strategies to mitigate potential risks.
  • Enact efficient technology strategies and solutions that address business requisites.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field; MBA a plus
  • 10+ years of experience with managing a portfolio of enterprise applications within IT operations or a related field, preferably in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standard cybersecurity standards and best practices
  • In-depth knowledge of Netsuite ERP software, including modules such as finance, CRM, inventory, and e-commerce.
  • Expert in Microsoft collaboration tools and technologies
  • Proven experience creating and managing implementation projects, including but not limited to setting timelines, managing resources, and ensuring successful delivery.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with new/changing processes
