Electrical Engineer

Cox & Company, Inc. is looking for an outgoing individual who will be able to Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, and systems by performing the following duties.

Requirements

• Designs electrical equipment, components, products, and systems for aerospace and defense purposes per customer requirements in accordance with Military Standards and DO-160.
• Prepares schematics, bills of materials, printed circuit boards, wiring harness, and assembly drawings to support qualification and production build of the design.
• Coordinates with other engineering disciplines and departments to ensure overall system form, fit, function and safety requirements are achieved. 
• Designs and directs engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and qualification/production test support equipment. Determines methods, procedures, and conditions for testing products in accordance with system requirements.
• Directs activities to ensure that manufacturing procedures, construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functional specifications and customer requirements.
• Directs and coordinates repair assistance of production and field returns.
• Coordinates with quality assurance to support production test procedures. 
• Coordinate with purchasing and manufacturing to support obsolescence issues and verification/validation of new sources.
• Coordinates and prepares engineering change notice (ECN) per configuration management standards.
• Directs and coordinates operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment and systems in field installations.
• Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.

Education and/or Experience                      

• Bachelor of Science degree Electrical Engineering (B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university; or an Electrical Engineering Technology degree with a minimum of 2 years if related experience. 

Language Skills                      

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

Mathematical Skills                      

• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability                      

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
