About the role

Overview

Security represents the most critical priorities for our customers in a world awash in digital threats, regulatory scrutiny, and estate complexity. Microsoft Sovereign Cloud Security is looking for highly motivated candidates that can thrive in a non-traditional, agile environment at the cutting-edge of the security market. Our group is responsible for providing organizations with the best security solution for their cloud environment, allowing for visibility, governance, and protection over their infrastructure, platforms, and application solutions. Our culture is centered on embracing a growth mindset, a theme of inspiring excellence, and encouraging teams and leaders to bring their best each day. In doing so, we create life-changing innovations that impact billions of lives around the world.

We are looking to hire a Principal Security Architect with deep technical judgment and platform‑level ownership to lead security architecture and policy strategy for highly regulated government and sovereign cloud environments. This role operates at a product and portfolio level, shaping how security strategy, regulatory policy, and modern security architectures (including Zero Trust) are translated into scalable, durable technical solutions across Microsoft. The ideal candidate is a trusted technical leader who can operate effectively in a deeply interconnected organization—driving alignment across engineering, security, compliance, legal, and business stakeholders—while maintaining a high security bar for sensitive sovereign workloads.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond. In alignment with our Microsoft values, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment for all employees to positively impact our culture every day.
