The John Carroll School, a Catholic, independent, college-preparatory, co-educational high school, established in 1964 and located on 72 acres in Bel Air, Maryland, is currently seeking a full-time, 12-month School Administrative Assistant for the 2024-2025 school year.
The John Carroll School is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented School Administrative Assistant to join our team. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the school’s administrative functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the school’s attendance system, assisting with substitute teachers, and supporting the administrative team. The successful candidate will interact with staff, faculty, students, and parents, contributing to a collaborative and supportive school environment.
Essential Functions:
- Provide clerical and administrative support to the administrative team.
- Engage in a variety of communications with staff, students, and parents.
- Manage schedules for the administrative team.
- Oversee annual textbook renewal process.
- Oversee daily attendance records.
- Document parent communications regarding student attendance in the school’s learning management system.
- Maintain and manage a database of faculty substitute requests and assignments.

- Proficiency in computer-based systems, with the ability to quickly learn and manage the school’s learning management system, Veracross.

- Ability to manage confidential information.
- Experience working with high school-aged students and their families preferred.
- A high school diploma is required; a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Employment is contingent upon satisfactory state & federal background checks, driving record check, completion of VIRTUS
- Training, and completion of all required employment paperwork.
