As part of the Space Enterprise and Warfighting Division, the Space Security Directorate provides high-quality analytical support to the USSF Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC), Space Security and Defense Program (SSDP), and Headquarters, United States Space Command, advising the Government on the design, performance, and resilience of future space forces to win the next war.
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Associate Systems Director to work within an integrated team of Government, Aerospace, other FFRDCs, and SETA contractors. The Associate Systems Director reports to the Systems Director and is responsible for leading Aerospace efforts to support the SWAC Spectrum Warfare and the Multi-Domain Sensing Programs in the development of the US Space force capabilities, including future Space Data Transport, Ground Data Transport, Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT), and Missile Warning, Tracking, and Defense (MWTD) capabilities. As the Associate System Director, you will assist leading a talented group of experts, driving their efforts towards achieving customer and organizational goals. We are looking for someone with technical and leadership skills to champion innovative, enterprise thinking and analytical approaches on this fast moving and high-profile program. Candidates will apply leadership and space system knowledge to ensure Aerospace analytic resources, tools and expertise are identified and matched with SWAC’s analytic objectives and plans. This role requires strong communication skills and a transformative attitude.
Work Model
This position requires 100% onsite work in classified facilities and based in Colorado Springs, CO.
What You’ll Be Doing
Provide leadership and technical support to the Space Warfighting Analysis Center. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively in a multi-level classification environment with interagency, military, and civilian communities in the planning, conduct and interpretation of analysis to shape the force designs of the future U.S. space data transport, space-based PNT, missile warning, missile tracking and distributed processing architectures.
- Advise the SWAC’s Government leadership on analytic approaches, force design, systems engineering and development of future architectures
- Provide strategic leadership: Align and communicate strategic goals with tactical plans, and direction to the technical team, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
- Lead, inspire, and motivate a team of technical professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment
- Plan, assign, and manage the workload of interdisciplinary teams to meet customer requirements. Coordinate and prioritize work activities and balance resources to ensure completion within available STE/resources and schedule
- Identify Aerospace resources and expertise that can be brought to bear on tough customer problems. Translate SWAC Government leadership needs for engineering and analytic support to members of Aerospace’s Engineering and Technology Group (ETG)
- Provide periodic execution reviews to Aerospace and customer senior management
- Collaborate with other Aerospace personnel across all corporate locations and organizations
- Foster effective communication and collaboration among team members, with leadership, customers, support contractors, and other internal and external stakeholders. Promote knowledge sharing, innovation, and cross-organization cooperation
- Maintain effective working relationships with SWAC Government leadership, and other supporting Government organizations, FFRDCs, UARCs and SETA contractors
- Direct interaction and coordination with various partner organizations including US Space Force Headquarters, Space Systems Center, Air Force Research Lab, Joint Staff, OSD, other Services, the Intelligence Community, other Combatant Commands, Industry, and International Partners
